It has become somewhat of a trend for Jordan Brand to transform some of their most iconic sneakers into golf shoes. This year though, Jordan Brand decided to release a golf variation of not only an iconic model, but also an iconic colorway of that model. Early 2017 marked the release of an Air Jordan 1 “Chicago” Golf Shoes. Sneakerheads will agree that the Air Jordan 1 is one of Jordan Brand’s most iconic model and “Chicago” is one of its most iconic colorways. Now, Jordan Brand seems to be continuing this trend and the latest model to be transformed into golf shoes is the Air Jordan 13 Low.
Considering that Michael Jordan himself is a major golf enthusiast, it makes sense that Jordan Brand tends to drop golf shoes every now and then. Of course, the Air Jordan 1 “Chicago” golf shoes were rather special, being Jordan Brand’s first sneaker model that kicked started the legacy. However, since this variation was meant for the golf course, a couple of changes were made to the basketball silhouette. For instance, additional padding was added to make the shoes more comfortable and provide the wearer improved ankle support. It is also equipped with outsoles inspired by those of the Nike Free, but with soft spikes underneath.
The two colorways of the Air Jordan 13 Low Golf seen here are actually samples. It was Pat Perez, the professional golfer, who shared these photos of these three Air Jordan 13 Low Golf iterations on his Instagram account. The three colorways seen here sport a Black/White, Blue/White and Red/White color scheme. The spikes beneath the Nike Free-inspired outsoles are quite unique because they seem to look soft and do not resemble the spikes that tend to be present underneath golf cleats.
So far, it seems that these golf shoes are still within the sampling stage, even though Pat Perez seems to have the three pairs.Nonetheless, all the golfers reading this who would love rock these on the course will hopefully soon be able to cop any of these three Air Jordan 13 Low Golf colorways in the near future.
